Lycetts celebrates reaching group’s £200m charity milestone

October 3rd 2023

Lycetts is celebrating the £200 million its parent company, Benefact Group, has given to charities since 2014.

Charles Foster, CEO of Lycetts, said: “It’s a major milestone on the road to meeting the group’s ambition of donating £250 million to good causes by 2025.

“Providing help and support to charities is particularly important during these challenging times, and it is heartening to see the response, and to know that hundreds of lives have been improved.”

Benefact Group, the UK’s third largest corporate donor¹, distributes donations through a range of programmes, including employee giving, business giving and group-led programmes such as the flagship Movement for Good Awards², which has seen more than £5million awarded to 2,500 charities over the past five years.

As well as larger £10,000 grants, the Movement for Good Awards also allocates £1,000 to publicly nominated charities. So far this year, 300 have benefited, including the County Durham-based Solan Connor Fawcett Family Cancer Trust, Northumbria Blood Bikes and North Tyneside’s Cedarwood Trust.

Mark Hews, Group Chief Executive Officer of Benefact Group, said: “Charitable giving is at the heart of what we do at Benefact Group, so I’m thrilled we have been able to donate this incredible sum to good causes.

“Owned by a charity, all of our available profits go to good causes, and the more the Group grows, the more the Group can give. Our giving would not be possible without the support of Lycetts, and its customers, partners, and colleagues, and so I would like to thank every person who has helped us reach this incredible milestone.

“Lycetts is a fantastic business, with a clear and inspiring purpose. Thanks to them, we’ve been able to support more than 10,000 charities, helping to transform thousands of lives in the UK and abroad.”

In addition to its giving, Benefact Group also helps charities through its advice and support, which includes fundraising guidance, colleague volunteering, webinars, and online resources. Earlier this year, the Group published its Value of Giving report, demonstrating the value and socio-economic benefits of charities to the UK economy.
