We wish to bring to your attention recent developments regarding BT’s decision to discontinue their Redcare alarm signalling service, effective from the 1st August 2025.
BT Redcare has provided an extensive range of alarm signalling products over the past 30 years, including Redcare Classic, Classic Fire, GSM, Secure range (IP, Fire, Solo, Secure 2, Secure 3), Essential, Essential IP, Essential Extra, Advanced, Advanced Extra, and Ultimate. It’s estimated there are approximately 120,000 live systems using a BT Redcare product at this moment in time that will now need changing.
In light of their decision, it is imperative that affected individuals and businesses explore alternative solutions promptly. We anticipate that you may receive communications from various alarm maintenance companies and suppliers, each offering their services as potential replacements. However, selecting the right replacement service is crucial to maintaining the level of security and coverage provided by Redcare.
We want to emphasise the importance of choosing a suitable replacement service. Your insurance cover may well have a condition that means that you must have monitored alarm protection. Insurers may have minimum performance requirements for your alarm signalling so it is essential that any replacement matches these. This will help safeguard your coverage and provide peace of mind knowing that your systems are in good hands.
Whilst 1st August 2025 may feel a long way off, it is crucial to act swiftly to avoid potential installation delays and product shortages. We encourage you to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have regarding this transition.
