We are seeing a sharp spike in thefts from farms of  ATV’s and GPS equipment since lockdown began, please be vigilant.

High-value GPS equipment is appealing to thieves and we are seeing cases occurring nationwide. If you have fitted GPS  equipment to your tractor make sure that it is included within the sum insured of the tractor.

If the device is removable we advise that is it covered on your farm policy.

If you have an agricultural vehicle  policy with us you will have received a complimentary, advanced forensic coding system called Lycetts DNA+ which can also be applied to the equipment, which will  help  to recover the items  if stolen.

Lycetts DNA+ combines an adhesive solution with uniquely coded micro particles registered exclusively to you. This system provides irrefutable, traceable evidence of ownership.

When used correctly, DNA+ is proven by the police to be a powerful deterrent to thieves. The solution is quick and easy for you to apply.

How it works:

  • Lycetts DNA+ should be used on equipment and items on premises owned by you. The liquid glows under ultraviolet light making it easy for the police to detect.
  • We also provide you with warning signage to display at entrances to buildings and other strategic positions easily noticed by potential thieves.
  • The pack also includes warning labels to be applied in and on machinery and other valuable, smaller items.

For further information about DNA+ or to discuss your insurance policies please contact Jenny Brook or Andrew Hay
