Lycetts hands over £4,000 to conservation charity Tusk

March 7th 2017

Last year Lycetts joined forces with conservation charity Tusk and distinguished wildlife artist Hamish Mackie to raise money to help support the continued fight for wildlife protection in Africa.

Angus Keate, Chief Executive, says: “Traditionally Lycetts has a history of supporting charitable projects relating to social deprivation and health issues but we felt that supporting Tusk was an important expansion of this work. Not only does the charity benefit wildlife in Africa; it also supports local community development and educational programmes.”

Over £4,000 was raised at Hamish Mackie’s ‘Life in Bronze’ Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in October. A percentage of the funds raised through sales made to Lycetts guests during this exhibition have been donated to the charity Tusk.

Perhaps best known for its anti-poaching initiatives and the support of its patron HRH The Duke of Cambridge, Tusk is a dynamic and pioneering organisation which over the past 25 years has invested £25 million into a successful combination of programmes designed to provide lasting benefits for the people and wildlife of Africa. It has contributed to more than 100 wildlife conservation projects providing greater protection for 36 endangered species, spanning 18 sub-Saharan countries.
