We are delighted to announce that we have signed a two year sponsorship deal with jockey Benoit De la Sayette.
The 19-year-old is currently contesting the Apprentice Jockeys Championship, which concludes on British Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday, 15th October, 2022.
“I am very pleased that Lycetts has chosen to support my career. The company is my first sponsor and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner. I hope that we will enjoy a successful association, both in the short and longer term,” said Newmarket-based Benoit.
Despite only starting his career in 2020, he has ridden 65 winners to date.
Great things are expected of Benoit, who was the first apprentice jockey on four-time champion trainer John Gosden’s books for 29 years.
Lycetts is a committed supporter of the racing industry and Benoit is the latest addition to our racing stable.
The son of French former amateur jockey Geoffroy De la Sayette, Benoit added: “It’s exciting that Lycetts is partnering with me over the coming weeks, when I will be aiming to continue in the race to finish as Champion Apprentice.
“It has been my ambition all season to contend right to the wire and that’s still the plan. Hopefully, the Lycetts logo on my breeches will give me that extra bit of luck to help me fulfil my ambitions.”
Richard Freeman, Lycetts account executive for bloodstock insurance, said: “Racing, like all industries, was hit hard by the pandemic.
“Now normality has returned, it is important to bolster support, which is why we are delighted to be able to invest in talented young jockeys like Benoit.”
The jockey sponsorship portfolio forms part of Lycetts long-term support of the racing industry.
The Lycetts Leadership and Team Champions Award, a prestigious industry award which celebrates the most exemplary racehorse training yards in Britain, has been running successfully since its launch in 2018.
